Ferrari Carano Cabernet

imagewinemaker’s notes:
Ferrari-Carano Cabernet Sauvignon comes primarily from mountaingrown fruit in Alexander Valley. Ripe black cherry aromas delight along with fresh boysenberry, spicy elements of clove, cedar and tea. Up front flavors of juicy blackberry, vanilla and cola are complemented by lingering notes of dark chocolate. This wine has excellent viscosity and smooth, pleasant structure with refined, yet generous, layers of tannin.

Blend: 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Syrah and 2% Petit Verdot

alcohol by volume: 14.5%

“Soft and smooth in tannins, this Cabernet is made in a drier, earthier style than many others. It displays classic blackberry and cedar flavors, and will benefit from a brief decant.”

WhiteHall Lane Winery – St. Helena (Napa Valley), California – Two Wines (a $75 Value)…..Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 &  Pinot Noir 2008 – Whitehall Lane Pinot Noir is elegant, graceful and very versatile with food from Carneros.  This Pinot Noir is a joy to drink.  It smells great and tastes even better with supple flavors of  ripe cherry, strawberry and toasty oak.   Balanced and smooth as Pinot should be.  It works well with a wide  range of cuisine or as a sipper.  Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 – 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot &  7% Petite Verdot.  This 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon has intense color and aromas of raspberry, and toasty oak that leap forth. The berry and plum flavors are concentrated with a rich, mouth-coating texture. With loads of fruit and velvety tannins, this beautiful blend is enjoyable now but will age gracefully through 2016.
