Wine of the Week -2009 Kanonkop KADETTE

Wine of the Week –    April 16, 2012 –   Kanonkop, a South African Wine,  is a full bodied dry red wine with concentrated berry, banana, cherry and fruit flavors with a spicy finish.  A blend of Pinotage (46%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%), Merlot (18%), Cabernet Franc (6%).  Kanankop means “Cannon Hill” and is derived from the days when canons were fired to signal the arrival of the Dutch Trade Ships coming into Cape Town Harbor. Grown in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa.   Price: $18.99
